Alexandru Munteanu is a research assistant and PhD candidate at the West University of Timișoara (UVT) at the Faculty of Computer Science.

His research focuses on deep learning methods for computer vision and remote sensing and cloud-native, scalable processing of Earth observation data.

Alexandru holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Computer Science from UVT and is currently pursuing a PhD, where his thesis is focused on scalable, cloud-native techniques for processing large volumes of EO data.

He is also involved in teaching undergraduate laboratory courses, including Web Technologies, Python Programming and Software Engineering.
