Dr. Florina Ardelean is a lecturer and researcher at the Department of Geography, West University of Timișoara, with research interests related to RS/GIS applications in glacial and periglacial geomorphology and natural hazards in mountain environments.

Her expertise is in remote sensing optical data processing, object-based image analysis, geomorphological mapping, and snow avalanche hazard and risk modeling. She was involved in multiple research projects related to semi-automated classification of landforms, snow avalanche mapping, permafrost modeling etc.
