Gabriel Iuhasz is an associate Professor and Senior Researcher at the West University of Timisoara. His main body of work covers topics of machine learning and distributed systems. He also has expertise in the field of performance and compliance optimization and autonomic adaptation in Cloud Computing as well as Big Data and HPC systems. Recent research directions also include the field of Earth Observation and the application of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence methods, Cyber-Physical systems and IIoT, Transprecise adaptation for Edge/Fog Computing.

He participated in numerous national and international research projects such as; local project lead for the H2020 Serrano project, Chist Era DiPET project, where he was in charge of the development of the algotihmic transprecise adaptation mechanisms for use in edge/fog stream processing, local lead in the H2020 ASPIDE Project dealing with performance anomaly detection in exascale systems, POC SCAMP-ML Data Analysis and Machine Learning in Cyber-Physical Systems, ESA ML4EO Machine Learning for Earth Observation, UEFISCDI PN3 PED Fuse4DL (2020-2022) Data Fusion in Earth Observation for Deep Learning, UEFISCDI PN3 PED CoCo Autonomy and Adaptability in Edge/Fog environments, Horizon Europe AI4Europe An AI on-demand platform to support research excellence in Europe.
