Sanda is a geomorphologist and geospatial scientist specialising in natural hazard assessment, GIS-based spatial modelling, and environmental risk analysis.
Her work integrates advanced geospatial techniques, including remote sensing and UAV applications, to support sustainable territorial planning and climate change adaptation.
Over the past years, her research has focused on landslide susceptibility, flood risk, soil erosion, and land suitability modelling, with strong emphasis on applied studies for urban and regional planning.
She has contributed to numerous national and international projects, developing geospatial solutions for environmental management and risk mitigation.
She is actively involved in interdisciplinary research and scientific publishing, serving as editor for several international journals’ special issues in GIS and environmental sciences.
She currently holds a position as Lecturer and Researcher at Babeș-Bolyai University, where she also coordinates research activities and leads multidisciplinary teams in applied geospatial studies.
